Narrated Sa`id bin Jubair:About Ibn `Abbas: `Umar bin Al-Khattab used to treat Ibn `Abbas very favorably `Abdur Rahman bin `Auf said to him. "We also have sons that are equal to him (but you are partial to him.)" `Umar said, "It is because of his knowledge." Then `Umar asked Ibn `Abbas about the interpretation of the Verse:- 'When come the Help of Allah and the conquest (of Mecca) (110.1) Ibn `Abbas said. "It portended the death of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), which Allah had informed him of." `Umar said, "I do not know from this Verse but what you know
Sa'id bin Jubair bataate hain: Ibn Abbas ke baare mein: Umar bin Al-Khattab unke saath bahut achha suluk karte the. Abdur Rahman bin Auf ne unse kaha, "Humare bhi bete hain jo unke barabar hain (magar aap unke prati pakshpaat karte hain)." Umar ne kaha, "Yeh unke ilm ki wajah se hai." Phir Umar ne Ibn Abbas se is Ayat ki vyaakhya pucha: "Jab Allah ki madad aur fatah (Mecca ki) aaye..." (110:1) Ibn Abbas ne kaha, "Yeh Allah ke Rasool ki maut ka ishara tha, jiski Allah ne unhe khabar di thi." Umar ne kaha, "Mujhe is Ayat se sirf wahi pata hai jo tumhe pata hai."
