Hadith text
Narrated Sa`d bin 'Ubaida:A man came to Ibn `Umar and asked about `Uthman and Ibn `Umar mentioned his good deeds and said to the questioner. "Perhaps these facts annoy you?" The other said, "Yes." Ibn `Umar said, "May Allah stick your nose in the dust (i.e. degrade you)!' Then the man asked him about `Ali. Ibn `Umar mentioned his good deeds and said, "It is all true, and that is his house in the midst of the houses of the Prophet. Perhaps these facts have hurt you?" The questioner said, "Yes." Ibn `Umar said, "May Allah stick your nose in the dust (i.e. degrade you or make you do things which you hate) ! Go away and do whatever you can against me
Sa'd bin Ubaida bataate hain: Ek shaks Ibn Umar ke paas aaya aur unse Uthman ke baare mein pucha, aur Ibn Umar ne unke neik amal bataye aur puchne wale se kaha, "Shaayad yeh baaten tumhe naraaj karti hain?" Doosre ne kaha, "Haan." Ibn Umar ne kaha, "Allah tumhari naak ko mitti mein sane (yaani tumhe apman kare)!" Phir us shaks ne Ali ke baare mein pucha. Ibn Umar ne unke neik amal bataye aur kaha, "Yeh sab sach hai, aur yeh raha unka ghar Nabi ke gharon ke beech mein. Shaayad in baaton ne tumhe dukhi kiya hai?" Puchne wale ne kaha, "Haan." Ibn Umar ne kaha, "Allah tumhari naak ko mitti mein sane (yaani tumhe apman kare ya tumhe aisa kaam karvaye jo tumhe napasand ho)! Jaao aur mere khilaf jo bhi kar sakte ho karo."
