Narrated Ibrahim:'Alqama went to Sham and when he entered the mosque, he said, "O Allah ! Bless me with a pious companion." So he sat with Abu Ad-Darda. Abu Ad-Darda' asked him, "Where are you from?" 'Alqama replied, "From the people of Kufa." Abu Ad-Darda said, "Isn't there amongst you the Keeper of the secret which nobody else knows i.e. Hudhaifa?" Al-qama said, "Yes." Then Abu Ad-Darda further said, "Isn't there amongst you the person whom Allah gave Refuge from Satan through the invocation of His Prophet namely `Ammar?" Alqama replied in the affirmative Abu Ad-Darda said, "Isn't there amongst you the person who carries the Siwak (or the Secret) (i.e. of the Prophet (ﷺ) namely `Abdullah bin Mas'ud)?" Alqama said, "Yes." Then Abu Ad-Darda asked, "How (Abdullah bin Masud) used to recite the Sura starting with: "By the night as it envelopes; By the day as it appears in brightness?" (92.1-2). Alqama said "And by male and female." Abu Ad-Darda then said, "These people (of Sham) tried hard to make me accept something other than what I had heard from the Prophet
Ibrahim bataate hain: Alqama Sham gaye aur jab woh masjid mein daakhil hue, unhone kaha, "Aye Allah! Mujhe ek pakbaz sathi de." Isliye woh Abu Ad-Darda ke saath baith gaye. Abu Ad-Darda ne unse pucha, "Tum kahaan se ho?" Alqama ne jawab diya, "Kufa ke logon mein se." Abu Ad-Darda ne kaha, "Kya tum mein woh raaz rakhne wala nahi hai jise koi aur nahi jaanta, yaani Hudhaifa?" Alqama ne kaha, "Haan." Phir Abu Ad-Darda ne aage kaha, "Kya tum mein woh shaks nahi hai jise Allah ne Shaitan se panah di apne Nabi ki dua se, yaani Ammar?" Alqama ne haan mein jawab diya. Abu Ad-Darda ne kaha, "Kya tum mein woh shaks nahi hai jo Siwaak (ya raaz) uthata hai (yaani Nabi ka), yaani Abdullah bin Mas'ud?" Alqama ne kaha, "Haan." Phir Abu Ad-Darda ne pucha, "(Abdullah bin Masud) kaise padhte the yeh Surah jo shuru hoti hai: 'Raat ki qasam jab woh chhaa jaati hai; Din ki qasam jab woh roshan hoti hai?'" (92:1-2) Alqama ne kaha, "'Aur (uski qasam) jisne nar aur maada banaaye.'" Abu Ad-Darda ne phir kaha, "Yeh log (Sham ke) mujhe kisi aur cheez ko qubool karane ki koshish karte rahe jo maine Nabi se suna tha uske ilawa."
