Book 63: Merits of the Helpers in Madinah (Ansaar) · Hadith 24
Hadith text
Narrated Anas bin Malik:Abu Bakr and Al-`Abbas passed by one of the gatherings of the Ansar who were weeping then. He (i.e. Abu Bakr or Al-`Abbas) asked, "Why are you weeping?" They replied, "We are weeping because we remember the gathering of the Prophet (ﷺ) with us." So Abu Bakr went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and told him of that. The Prophet (ﷺ) came out, tying his head with a piece of the hem of a sheet. He ascended the pulpit which he never ascended after that day. He glorified and praised Allah and then said, "I request you to take care of the Ansar as they are my near companions to whom I confided my private secrets. They have fulfilled their obligations and rights which were enjoined on them but there remains what is for them. So, accept the good of the good-doers amongst them and excuse the wrongdoers amongst them
Anas bin Malik bataate hain: Abu Bakr aur Al-Abbas Ansaar ki ek majlis se guzre jahaan woh us waqt ro rahe the. Unhone (yaani Abu Bakr ya Al-Abbas ne) pucha, "Tum kyun ro rahe ho?" Unhone jawab diya, "Hum isliye ro rahe hain kyunke humein Nabi ki humare saath majlis yaad aee." Isliye Abu Bakr Nabi ke paas gaye aur unhe yeh bataya. Nabi bahar aaye, apna sar ek chaadar ke kinare se baandhte hue. Woh mimbar par chadhe jispar woh us din ke baad kabhi nahi chadhe. Unhone Allah ki hamd aur uski taarif ki aur phir kaha, "Main tumse Ansaar ka khyaal rakhne ki guzarish karta hoon, kyunke woh mere qareebi sathi hain jinhe maine apne khaas raaz batae. Unhone apni zimmedaariyaan aur haqq poore kiye jo unpar farz kiye gaye the, magar abhi bhi kuch unke liye baaki hai. Isliye, unmein se neik logon ki achhaee qubool karo, aur unke galat amal walon ko maaf karo."
