Sahih al-Bukhari 3800

Hadith text

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (in his fatal illness) came out wrapped in a sheet covering his shoulders and his head was tied with an oily tape of cloth till he sat on the pulpit, and after praising and glorifying Allah, he said, "Then-after, O people! The people will go on increasing, but the Ansar will go on decreasing till they become just like salt in a meal. So whoever amongst you will be the ruler and has the power to harm or benefit others, should accept the good of the good-doers amongst them and excuse the wrongdoers amongst them

Ibn Abbas bataate hain: Allah ke Rasool (apni aakhri bimari mein) ek chaadar mein lipete hue bahar aaye, apne kandhon ko dhaankte huye, aur unka sar ek tel lagi patti se baandha hua tha, jab tak woh mimbar par baithe. Allah ki hamd aur uski taarif karke, unhone kaha, "Iske baad, Aye logo! Log badhte rahenge, magar Ansaar kam hote jaenge jab tak woh khaane mein namak jaise ban jaen. Isliye tum mein se koi bhi jo hukmaran bane aur logon ko faayda ya nuksaan pahunchane ki taakat rakhe, use unke neik logon ki achhaee qubool karni chahiye aur unke galat amal walon ko maaf karna chahiye."
