Hadith text

Narrated `Aisha:On the day of the battle of Uhud the pagans were defeated completely. Then Satan shouted loudly, "O Allah's slaves! Beware the ones behind you!" So the front files attacked the back ones. Then Hudhaifa looked and saw his father, and said loudly, "O Allah's slaves! My father! My father!" By Allah, they did not stop till they killed him (i.e. Hudaifa's father). Hudhaifa said, "May Allah forgive you!" The sub-narrator said, "By Allah, because of what Hudhaifa said, he remained in a good state till he met Allah (i.e. died)

Ayesha bataati hain: Uhud ki jung ke din, kaafir poori tarah haar gaye. Phir Shaitan zor se chilla, "Aye Allah ke bando! Apni peeth ke pichhe fauj se saavdhaan raho!" Isliye agli safon ne pichhli safon par hamla kiya. Phir Hudhaifa ne mudkar apne waalid ko dekha aur zor se chilla, "Aye Allah ke bando! Mere waalid! Mere waalid!" Allah ki qasam, woh tab tak nahi ruke jab tak unhonne unhe (yaani Hudhaifa ke waalid ko) qatl na kar diya. Hudhaifa ne kaha, "Allah tumhe maaf kare!" Raawi ne joda, "Allah ki qasam, jo kuch Hudhaifa ne kaha uski wajah se, woh apni maut tak ek achhi sthiti mein rahe (yaani Allah se milne tak)."
