Hadith text

Narrated Asma bint Abi Bakr:I saw Zaid bin Amr bin Nufail standing with his back against the Ka'ba and saying, "O people of Quraish! By Allah, none amongst you is on the religion of Abraham except me." He used to preserve the lives of little girls: If somebody wanted to kill his daughter he would say to him, "Do not kill her for I will feed her on your behalf." So he would take her, and when she grew up nicely, he would say to her father, "Now if you want her, I will give her to you, and if you wish, I will feed her on your behalf

Asma bint Abi Bakr bataati hain: Maine Zaid bin Amr bin Nufail ko Ka'ba ki peeth ke bagal khade dekha, aur woh kah rahe the, "Aye Quraish ke logo! Allah ki qasam, tum mein se koi bhi Ibrahim ke deen par nahi hai siwaye mere." Woh chhoti ladkiyon ki jaan bachane ka kaam karte the: Agar koi apni beti ko qatl karna chahta, woh usse kahte, "Ise mat maarao, kyunke main tumhare badle use khilaunga." Isliye woh use le lete, aur jab woh achhi tarah badi ho jaati, woh uske baap se kahte, "Ab agar tum use chaahte ho, main use tumhe deta hoon, aur agar tum chaho, main tumhare badle use khilata rahunga."
