Hadith text
Narrated Abu `Uthman:I heard that Ibn `Umar used to become angry if someone mentioned that he had migrated before his father (`Umar), and he used to say, " `Umar and I came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and found him having his midday rest, so we returned home. Then `Umar sent me again (to the Prophet (ﷺ) ) and said, 'Go and see whether he is awake.' I went to him and entered his place and gave him the pledge of allegiance. Then I went back to `Umar and informed him that the Prophet (ﷺ) was awake. So we both went, running slowly, and when `Umar entered his place, he gave him the pledge of allegiance and thereafter I too gave him the pledge of allegiance
Abu Uthman bataate hain: Maine suna ke Ibn Umar naraaj ho jate the agar koee yeh kahta ke woh apne waalid (Umar) se pahle hijrat kar gaye the, aur woh kahte, "Umar aur main Allah ke Rasool ke paas aaye aur unhe dopahar ke aaraam mein paaya, isliye hum ghar wapas chale gaye. Phir Umar ne mujhe phir bheja aur kaha, 'Jaao aur dekho kya woh jag rahe hain.' Main unke paas gaya aur unke paas gaya aur unhe bai'at di. Phir main Umar ke paas wapas gaya aur unhe bataya ke Nabi jag rahe hain. Isliye hum donon dheeme-dheeme daudte hue gaye, aur jab Umar unke paas pahunche, unhone unhe bai'at di aur uske baad maine bhi unhe bai'at di."
