Hadith text

Narrated Az-Zuhri:I heard `Urwa bin Az-Zubair talking to `Umar bin `Abdul `Aziz during the latter's Governorship (at Medina), he said, "Al-Mughira bin Shu`ba delayed the `Asr prayer when he was the ruler of Al-Kufa. On that, Abu Mas`ud. `Uqba bin `Amr Al-Ansari, the grand-father of Zaid bin Hasan, who was one of the Badr warriors, came in and said, (to Al-Mughira), 'You know that Gabriel came down and offered the prayer and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) prayed five prescribed prayers, and Gabriel said (to the Prophet (ﷺ) ), "I have been ordered to do so (i.e. offer these five prayers at these fixed stated hours of the day)

Az-Zuhri bataate hain: Maine Urwa bin Az-Zubair ko Umar bin Abdul Aziz ke saath, unki Madina ki gawarnori ke dauran, baat karte suna. Ispar, Abu Mas'ud, Uqba bin Amr Al-Ansari, jo Zaid bin Hasan ke dada the aur jo Badr ke yoddhaon mein se ek the, andar aaye aur kaha (Al-Mughira se), 'Aapko pata hai Jibreel neeche aaye aur namaz padhi, aur Allah ke Rasool ne paanch nirdharit namazen padhi, aur Jibreel ne (Nabi se) kaha, \"Mujhe aisa karne ka hukum diya gaya hai (yaani in paanch namazon ko din ke in nishchit samayon par padhne ka).\"'"
