Hadith text
Narrated Sa`d bin Ibrahim:A meal was brought to `Abdur-Rahman bin `Auf while he was fasting. He said, "Mus`ab bin `Umair was martyred, and he was better than I, yet he was shrouded in a Burda (i.e. a sheet) so that, if his head was covered, his feet became naked, and if his feet were covered, his head became naked." `Abdur-Rahman added, "Hamza was martyred and he was better than I. Then worldly wealth was bestowed upon us and we were given thereof too much. We are afraid that the reward of our deeds has been given to us in this life." `Abdur-Rahman then started weeping so much that he left the food
Sa'd bin Ibrahim bataate hain: Ek khaana Abdur-Rahman bin Auf ke paas laaya gaya jabke woh roza rakhe hue the. Unhone kaha, "Mus'ab bin Umair shaheed hue, aur woh mujhse behtar the, phir bhi unhe ek Burda (yaani ek chaadar) mein kafna diya gaya isi tarah ke agar unka sar dhaka jata, unke paanv khule reh jaate, aur agar unke paanv dhake jate, unka sar khula reh jata." Abdur-Rahman ne joda, "Hamza shaheed hue aur woh mujhse behtar the. Phir humein duniyavi daulat mili aur humein usmein se bahut zyada di gaee. Humein dar hai ke humare amalon ka ajr abhi is jeevan mein hi de diya gaya hai." Phir Abdur-Rahman itna rone lage ke unhone khaana chhod diya.
