Hadith text
Narrated Khabbab:We migrated with the Prophet (ﷺ) for Allah's Cause, so our reward became due with Allah. Some of us passed away (i.e. died) without enjoying anything from their reward, and one of them was Mus`ab bin `Umair who was killed (i.e. martyred) on the day of Uhud. He did not leave behind except a sheet of striped woolen cloth. If we covered his head with it, his feet became naked, and if we covered his feet with it, his head became naked. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to us, "Cover his head with it and put Idhkhir (i.e. a kind of grass) over his feet," or said, "Put some Idhkhir over his feet." But some of us have got their fruits ripened, and they are collecting them
Khabbab bataate hain: Humne Nabi ke saath Allah ki khaatir hijrat ki, isliye humara ajr Allah ke paas due ho gaya. Humme se kuch is duniya se guzar gaye (yaani intiqal ho gaya) bina apne ajr se koee faayda uthae, aur unmein se ek Mus'ab bin Umair the jo Uhud ki jung ke din shaheed hue (yaani qatl kiye gaye). Unhone ek dhaaridaar ooni chaadar ke ilawa kuch nahi chhoda. Agar humne unka sar isse dhaka, unke paanv khule rah jate, aur agar humne unke paanv dhaae, unka sar khula rah jata. Nabi ne humse kaha, "Isse unka sar dhaako aur unke paanvon par kuch Idhkhir (yaani ek qisam ki ghaas) rakho," ya kaha, "unke paanvon par kuch Idhkhir daalo." Magar humme se kuch ne apne phal pak jate dekhe (is duniya mein) aur woh unhe jama kar rahe hain.
