Hadith text
Narrated Anas:Some (of the Ansar) used to present date palm trees to the Prophet (ﷺ) till Banu Quraiza and Banu An- Nadir were conquered (then he returned to the people their date palms). My people ordered me to ask the Prophet (ﷺ) to return some or all the date palms they had given to him, but the Prophet (ﷺ) had given those trees to Um Aiman. On that, Um Aiman came and put the garment around my neck and said, "No, by Him except Whom none has the right to be worshipped, he will not return those trees to you as he (i.e. the Prophet (ﷺ) ) has given them to me." The Prophet (ﷺ) said (to her), "Return those trees and I will give you so much (instead of them)." But she kept on refusing, saying, "No, by Allah," till he gave her ten times the number of her date palms
Anas bataate hain: Kuch (Ansaar) log Nabi ko khajoor ke darakht tohfe mein dete the jab tak Banu Quraiza aur Banu An-Nadir ko fatah kiya gaya (phir unhone unke khajoor ke darakht unhe wapas lekar de diye). Mere pariwara ne mujhe hukum diya ke main Nabi se kuch ya sab khajoor ke darakhton ko wapas maangun jo unhone unhe diye the, magar Nabi ne woh darakht Um Aiman ko de diye the. Ispar, Um Aiman aee aur mere gale ke gird kapda daal diya aur kaha, "Nahi, us Zaat ki qasam jiske siwa koee mabood nahi, woh (yaani Nabi) tumhe woh darakht wapas nahi denge kyunke unhone unhe mujhe de diya hai." Nabi ne (unse) kaha, "Woh darakht wapas kar do aur main tumhe utna hi (badle mein) dunga." Magar unhone inkaar karte rahe, kahte huye, "Nahi, Allah ki qasam," jab tak Nabi ne unhe unki khajoor ke darakhton ki sankhya se das guna zyada diye.
