Hadith text
Narrated Usama bin Zaid:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) sent us towards Al-Huraqa, and in the morning we attacked them and defeated them. I and an Ansari man followed a man from among them and when we took him over, he said, "La ilaha illal-Lah." On hearing that, the Ansari man stopped, but I killed him by stabbing him with my spear. When we returned, the Prophet (ﷺ) came to know about that and he said, "O Usama! Did you kill him after he had said "La ilaha ilal-Lah?" I said, "But he said so only to save himself." The Prophet (ﷺ) kept on repeating that so often that I wished I had not embraced Islam before that day
Usama bin Zaid bataate hain: Allah ke Rasool ne humein Al-Huraqa ki taraf bheja, aur subah humne unpar hamla kiya aur unhe haara diya. Main aur ek Ansaari shaks ne unmein se ek shaks ka picha kiya, aur jab humne unhe pakad liya, unhone kaha, "La ilaha illal-Lah." Yeh sunkar, Ansaari shaks ruka, magar maine unhe apne bhaale se maarkar qatl kar diya. Jab hum wapas aaye, Nabi ko is baat ki khabar mili aur unhone kaha, "Aye Usama! Kya tumne unhe qatl kiya unke 'La ilaha ilal-Lah' kahne ke baad?" Maine kaha, "Magar unhone woh sirf khud ko bachane ke liye kaha." Nabi yeh baat itni baar doharate rahe ke maine chaaha kaash maine us din se pahle Islam qubool na kiya hota.
