Hadith text

Narrated Mujahid:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) got up on the day of the Conquest of Mecca and said, "Allah has made Mecca a sanctuary since the day He created the Heavens and the Earth, and it will remain a sanctuary by virtue of the sanctity Allah has bestowed on it till the Day of Resurrection. It (i.e. fighting in it) was not made lawful to anyone before me, nor will it be made lawful to anyone after me, and it was not made lawful for me except for a short period of time. Its game should not be chased, nor should its trees be cut, nor its vegetation or grass uprooted, nor its Luqata (i.e. Most things) picked up except by one who makes a public announcement about it." Al-Abbas bin `Abdul Muttalib said, "Except the Idhkhir, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), as it is indispensable for blacksmiths and houses." On that, the Prophet (ﷺ) kept quiet and then said, "Except the Idhkhir as it is lawful to cut

Mujahid bataate hain: Allah ke Rasool Fatah-e-Mecca ke din uthe aur kaha, "Allah ne Mecca ko us din se pavitra banaya hai jab usne aasman aur zameen banaee thi, aur yeh us pavitrata ki wajah se pavitra hi rahega jo Allah ne ise diya hai Qiyamat ke din tak. Yeh (yaani ismein jung karna) mujhse pahle kisi ke liye jaayaz nahi tha, na hi yeh mere baad kisi ke liye jaayaz hoga, aur yeh mere liye bhi sirf ek chhote samay ke liye jaayaz tha. Iske shikaar janwaron ka picha nahi karna chahiye, na iske darakhton ko kaatna chahiye, na iski ghaas ya vanaspati ko ukhaadna chahiye, na iski Luqata (yaani khoee huee cheezen) uthana chahiye siwaye us shaks ke jo iske baare mein saarvajanik elaan kare." Al-Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib ne kaha, "Siwaye Idhkhir (yaani ek qisam ki ghaas) ke, Aye Allah ke Rasool, kyunke yeh lohaaron aur gharon ke liye zaroori hai." Ispar, Nabi khaamosh rahe aur phir kaha, "Siwaye Idhkhir ke, kyunke ise kaatna jaayaz hai."
