Sahih al-Bukhari 4396

Hadith text

Narrated Ibn Juraij:`Ata' said, "Ibn `Abbas said, 'If he (i.e. the one intending to perform `Umra) has performed the Tawaf around the Ka`ba, his Ihram is considered to have finished.' I said, 'What proof does Ibn `Abbas has as to this saying?" `Ata' said, "(The proof is taken) from the Statement of Allah:-- "And afterwards they are brought For sacrifice unto Ancient House (Ka`ba at Mecca)" (22.33) and from the order of the Prophet to his companions to finish their Ihram during Hajjat-ul-Wada`." I said (to `Ata'), "That (i.e. finishing the Ihram) was after coming from `Arafat." `Ata' said, "Ibn `Abbas used to allow it before going to `Arafat (after finishing the `Umra) and after coming from it (i.e. after performing the Hajj)

Ibn Juraij bataate hain: Ata ne kaha, "Ibn Abbas ne kaha, 'Agar unhone (yaani Umrah karne wale ne) Ka'ba ka Tawaf kar liya hai, unka Ihram khatm maana jaayega.' Maine kaha, 'Ibn Abbas ke paas is baat ka kya saboot hai?'" Ata ne kaha, "(Saboot liya gaya hai) Allah ke is farmaan se: 'Aur baad mein unhe qurbani ke liye Purane Ghar (yaani Ka'ba, Mecca mein) laaya jata hai' (22:33) aur Nabi ke apne sahaba ko Hajjat-ul-Wada ke dauran apna Ihram khatm karne ka hukum dene se." Maine (Ata se) kaha, "Yeh (yaani Ihram khatm karna) Arafat se aane ke baad tha." Ata ne kaha, "Ibn Abbas iski ijazat dete the Arafat jane se pahle bhi (Umrah poora karne ke baad) aur wahaan se aane ke baad bhi (yaani Hajj poora karne ke baad)."
