Hadith text

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:Thursday! And how great that Thursday was! The ailment of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) became worse (on Thursday) and he said, "Fetch me something so that I may write to you something after which you will never go astray." The people (present there) differed in this matter, and it was not right to differ before a prophet. Some said, "What is wrong with him ? (Do you think ) he is delirious (seriously ill)? Ask him ( to understand his state )." So they went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and asked him again. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Leave me, for my present state is better than what you call me for." Then he ordered them to do three things. He said, "Turn the pagans out of the 'Arabian Peninsula; respect and give gifts to the foreign delegations as you have seen me dealing with them." (Sa`id bin Jubair, the sub-narrator said that Ibn `Abbas kept quiet as regards the third order, or he said, "I forgot it.") (See Hadith No. 116 Vol)

Ibn Abbas bataate hain: Guruwar (Thursday)! Aur wo Guruwar kaisa tha! Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ki bimari us din aur badh gayi thi, aur unhone farmaya, 'Kuch lao, main tumhare liye kuch likh doon jiske baad tum kabhi gumraah nahi hoge.' Wahan maujood logon mein ikhtelaf ho gaya, halaanke Nabi ke saamne ikhtelaf karna theek nahi tha. Kuch logon ne kaha, 'Inhe kya ho gaya hai? (Kahin) ye bimari ki shiddat mein bahekne to nahi lage? Inse (saaf saaf) pucho.' Wo Nabi (SAW) ke paas gaye aur dobara pucha. Nabi (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Mujhe chhod do, jis haalat mein main hoon wo us se behtar hai jiske liye tum mujhe bula rahe ho.' Phir unhone teen baatein karne ka hukm diya. Farmaya, 'Mushrikon ko Jazeera-e-Arab se nikaal do, aur bahar se aane waale wafdon ki izzat karo aur unhe tohfe do, jaisa tumne mujhe unke saath karte dekha hai.' (Ravi Saeed bin Jubair kehte hain ke Ibn Abbas teesri baat par khamosh ho gaye, ya kaha ke main use bhool gaya.)
