Hadith text

Narrated Anas:That his aunt, Ar-Rubai' broke an incisor tooth of a girl. My aunt's family requested the girl's relatives for forgiveness but they refused; then they proposed a compensation, but they refused. Then they went to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and refused everything except Al-Qisas (i.e. equality in punishment). So Allah's Apostle passed the judgment of Al-Qisas (i.e. equality of punishment). Anas bin Al-Nadr said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Will the incisor tooth of Ar-Rubai be broken? No, by Him Who sent you with the Truth, her incisor tooth will not be broken." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "O Anas! The prescribed law of Allah is equality in punishment (i.e. Al-Qisas.)" Thereupon those people became satisfied and forgave her. Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Among Allah's Worshippers there are some who, if they took Allah's Oath (for something), Allah fulfills their oaths

Anas bataate hain ke unki khaala Ar-Rubai ne ek ladki ka ek daant tod diya. Unke gharwaalon ne ladki ke gharwaalon se maafi ki darkhwaast ki magar unhone inkaar kiya, phir muawza (badla) dene ki peshkash ki, wo bhi thukra diya. Phir wo Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ke paas gaye, unhone bhi Qisas ke siwa kuch aur qubool nahi kiya. To Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne Qisas ka faisla sunaya. Anas bin An-Nadr ne kaha, 'Aye Allah ke Rasool! Kya Rubai ka daant toda jaayega? Nahi, us Zaat ki qasam jisne aapko haq ke saath bheja, unka daant nahi tootega.' Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Aye Anas! Allah ka muqarrar kiya qanoon Qisas hi hai.' Isper wo log raazi ho gaye aur ladki ko maaf kar diya. Phir Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Allah ke bandon mein kuch aise hote hain ke agar wo Allah ka naam lekar (kisi baat ki) qasam khaa lein, to Allah unki qasam poori kar deta hai.'
