حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى، وَابْنُ، إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّانَ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ عَلَى مِنْبَرِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ أَمَّا بَعْدُ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّهُ نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ وَهْىَ مِنْ خَمْسَةٍ، مِنَ الْعِنَبِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَالْعَسَلِ وَالْحِنْطَةِ وَالشَّعِيرِ، وَالْخَمْرُ مَا خَامَرَ الْعَقْلَ‏.‏

Narrated Ibn `Umar:I heard `Umar while he was on the pulpit of the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "Now then O people! The revelation about the prohibition of alcoholic drinks was revealed; and alcoholic drinks are extracted from five things: Grapes, dates, honey, wheat and barley. And the alcoholic drink is that which confuses and stupefies the mind

Ibn Umar bataate hain: Maine Umar ko Nabi (SAW) ke mimbar par ye kehte suna, 'Ab, aye logo! Sharaab ki haraamiyat ki Aayat naazil ho chuki hai, aur sharaab paanch cheezon se banti hai: angoor, khajoor, shehad, gehun aur jau se. Aur sharaab wo hai jo aqal ko dhaank de aur behosh kar de.'
