Hadith text
Narrated Jabir:When this Verse was revealed: "Say: He has power to send torment on you from above." (6.65) Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "O Allah! I seek refuge with Your Face (from this punishment)." And when the verse: "or send torment from below your feet," (was revealed), Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "(O Allah!) I seek refuge with Your Face (from this punishment)." (But when there was revealed): "Or confuse you in party strife and make you to taste the violence of one another." (6.65) Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "This is lighter (or, this is easier)
Jabir bataate hain: Jab ye Aayat naazil hui, 'Kaho: Wahi is baat par qaadir hai ke tumpar upar se azaab bheje' (6:65), Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Aye Allah! Main Teri zaat ki panaah maangta hoon (is azaab se).' Aur jab ye naazil hui, 'Ya tumhare pairon ke neeche se (azaab bheje),' Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne (phir) farmaya, 'Aye Allah! Main Teri zaat ki panaah maangta hoon.' (Magar) jab ye naazil hui, 'Ya tumhein guton mein baant kar ek doosre ki takleef chakhaa de' (6:65), Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Ye (pehle do azaabon se) halka (ya asaan) hai.'
