Hadith text
Narrated `Abdullah bin Ka`b:I heard Ka`b bin Malik at the time he remained behind and did not join (the battle of) Tabuk, saying, "By Allah, no blessing has Allah bestowed upon me, besides my guidance to Islam, better than that of helping me speak the truth to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) otherwise I would have told the Prophet (ﷺ) a lie and would have been ruined like those who had told a lie when the Divine Inspiration was revealed:-- "They will swear by Allah to you (Muslims) when you return to them.. the rebellious people
Abdullah bin Ka'b bataate hain: Maine Ka'b bin Malik ko, us waqt ke baare mein jab wo jang-e-Tabuk mein shareek nahi ho paaye the, ye kehte suna: 'Allah ki qasam, Islam ki hidaayat ke ilaawa Allah ne mujhpar jo sabse badi meharbaani ki wo ye thi ke maine Allah ke Rasool (SAW) se sach bola, warna main Nabi (SAW) se jhoot bol deta aur main un logon ki tarah tabaah ho jaata jinhone (Nabi se) jhoot bola tha, jab Allah ne ye wahi naazil ki: "Ye log tumhare (Musalmaanon ke) paas wapas aane par Allah ki qasam khaayenge..." (yaani un) sarkash logon ke baare mein.'
