Hadith text

Narrated Um Ruman:Who was `Aisha's mother: While I was with `Aisha, `Aisha got fever, whereupon the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Probably her fever is caused by the story related by the people (about her)." I said, "Yes." Then `Aisha sat up and said, "My example and your example is similar to that of Jacob and his sons:--'Nay, but your minds have made up a tale. So (for me) patience is most fitting. It is Allah (alone) Whose help can be sought against that which you assert

Umm Ruman, jo Aisha ki maa thi, bataati hain: Jab main Aisha ke paas thi, Aisha ko bukhaar aa gaya, isper Nabi (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Shaayad unka bukhaar us baat ki wajah se hai jo logon ne (unke baare mein) kahi.' Maine kaha, 'Haan.' Phir Aisha uth kar baithi aur kaha, 'Meri misaal aur tumhaari misaal Yaqub aur unke beton jaisi hai: "Nahi, balke tumhaare dilon ne ek kahaani gadh li hai. To (mere liye) sabar hi behtar hai. Aur Allah hi (sirf) hai jiski madad maangi jaa sakti hai us baat ke khilaaf jo tum bayaan karte ho."'
