Hadith text
Narrated Ibn `Abbas:(regarding): 'Neither say your, prayer aloud, nor say it in a low tone.' (17.110) This Verse was revealed while Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was hiding himself in Mecca. When he prayed with his companions, he used to raise his voice with the recitation of Qur'an, and if the pagans happened to hear him, they would abuse the Qur'an, the One who revealed it and the one who brought it. Therefore Allah said to His Prophet : 'Neither say your prayer aloud.' (17.110) i.e. do not recite aloud lest the pagans should hear you, but follow a way between
Ibn Abbas is Aayat ke baare mein bataate hain: 'Na apni namaz buland aawaaz mein padho, na bilkul dabi aawaaz mein...' (17:110) - ye Aayat us waqt naazil hui jab Allah ke Rasool (SAW) Makkah mein chhup kar (namaz padhte) the. Jab wo apne sahaaba ke saath namaz padhte, to Quran ki tilawat buland aawaaz mein karte, aur agar mushrikeen unhein sun lete, to wo Quran ko, use naazil karne wale ko, aur use laane wale ko bura-bhala kehte. Isliye Allah ne apne Nabi se farmaya: 'Na apni namaz buland aawaaz mein padho' (17:110) - yaani itni buland aawaaz mein tilawat mat karo ke mushrikeen sun lein, balke in dono ke beech ka rasta ikhtiyaar karo.
