Sahih al-Bukhari 4761

Hadith text

Narrated `Abdullah:I or somebody, asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) "Which is the biggest sin in the Sight of Allah?" He said, "That you set up a rival (in worship) to Allah though He Alone created you." I asked, "What is next?" He said, "Then, that you kill your son, being afraid that he may share your meals with you." I asked, "What is next?" He said, "That you commit illegal sexual intercourse with the wife of your neighbor." Then the following Verse was revealed to confirm the statement of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ): "Those who invoke not with Allah, any other god, nor kill life as Allah has forbidden except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse

Abdullah bataate hain: Maine ya kisi aur ne Allah ke Rasool (SAW) se pucha, 'Allah ke nazdeek sabse bada gunaah kya hai?' Unhone farmaya, 'Ye ke tum Allah ka shareek thehraao, jabke usne akele tumhe paida kiya.' Maine pucha, 'Uske baad kya?' Unhone farmaya, 'Phir ye ke tum apne bete ko is dar se qatl karo ke wo tumhaare saath khaana khaayega.' Maine pucha, 'Uske baad kya?' Unhone farmaya, 'Apne padosi ki biwi se zina karna.' Phir Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ke is bayaan ki tasdeeq mein ye Aayat naazil hui: 'Jo log Allah ke saath kisi aur maabood ko nahi pukaarte, na haq ke bagair kisi jaan ko qatl karte jise Allah ne haraam kiya hai, na zina karte hain...'
