Hadith text
Narrated Abu Huraira:One day while Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was sitting with the people, a man came to him walking and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ). What is Belief?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Belief is to believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Apostles, and the meeting with Him, and to believe in the Resurrection." The man asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) What is Islam?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "Islam is to worship Allah and not worship anything besides Him, to offer prayers perfectly, to pay the (compulsory) charity (i.e. Zakat) and to fast the month of Ramadan." The man again asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) What is Ihsan (i.e. perfection or Benevolence)?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Ihsan is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you do not achieve this state of devotion, then (take it for granted that) Allah sees you." The man further asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) When will the Hour be established?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "The one who is asked about it does not know more than the questioner does, but I will describe to you its portents. When the lady slave gives birth to her mistress, that will be of its portents; when the bare-footed naked people become the chiefs of the people, that will be of its portents. The Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah. Verily, the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone). He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs." (31.34) Then the man left. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Call him back to me." They went to call him back but could not see him. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "That was Gabriel who came to teach the people their religion." (See Hadith No. 47 Vol)
Abu Huraira bataate hain: Ek din jab Allah ke Rasool (SAW) logon ke saath baithe the, ek shaks chal kar unke paas aaya aur pucha, 'Aye Allah ke Rasool! Iman kya hai?' Nabi (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Iman ye hai ke tum Allah par, uske farishton par, uski kitaabon par, uske Rasoolon par, aur usse milne par Iman rakho, aur Qayamat par Iman laao.' Us shaks ne pucha, 'Aye Allah ke Rasool! Islam kya hai?' Nabi (SAW) ne jawab diya, 'Islam ye hai ke tum sirf Allah ki ibaadat karo aur uske siwa kisi aur ki ibaadat na karo, namaz mukammal padho, Zakat ada karo, aur Ramzan ke roze rakho.' Us shaks ne phir pucha, 'Aye Allah ke Rasool! Ihsan kya hai?' Nabi (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Ihsan ye hai ke tum Allah ki ibaadat aise karo jaise tum use dekh rahe ho, aur agar ye martaba haasil na kar sako, to (jaan lo ke) wo tumhein dekh raha hai.' Us shaks ne aage pucha, 'Aye Allah ke Rasool! Qayamat kab aayegi?' Nabi (SAW) ne jawab diya, 'Jispar sawaal kiya jaa raha hai, wo puchne wale se zyaada nahi jaanta, magar main tumhein iski alaamaten batata hoon. Jab launDi apni maalkin ko janme, ye ek alaamat hai; jab nange pair aur nange badan wale log (duniya ke) sardaar ban jaayein, ye bhi ek alaamat hai. Qayamat ka waqt un paanch cheezon mein se ek hai jo Allah ke siwa koi nahi jaanta. "Beshak Qayamat ka ilm sirf Allah ke paas hai. Wahi baarish barsaata hai, aur jaanta hai jo (maaon ke) rehm mein hai."' (31:34) Phir wo shaks wahaan se chala gaya. Nabi (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Use wapas bulaao.' Log use bulaane gaye magar unhein wo dikhaayi nahi diya. Nabi (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Wo Jibrael the jo logon ko unka deen sikhaane aaye the.'
