Narrated Ibn `Abbas:One day the Prophet (ﷺ) ascended Safa mountain and said, "Oh Sabahah! " All the Quraish gathered round him and said, "What is the matter?" He said, Look, if I told you that an enemy is going to attack you in the morning or in the evening, would you not believe me?" They said, "Yes, we will believe you." He said, "I am a warner to you in face of a terrible punishment." On that Abu Lahab said, "May you perish ! Is it for this thing that you have gathered us?" So Allah revealed: 'Perish the hands of Abu Lahab
Ibn Abbas bataate hain: Ek din Nabi (SAW) Safa pahaad par chadhe aur kaha, 'Aye Sabahah!' (khatre ka elaan). Saare Quraish unke gird jama ho gaye aur pucha, 'Kya baat hai?' Unhone kaha, 'Dekho, agar main tumhein bataun ke ek dushman subah ya shaam tumpar hamla karne wala hai, to kya tum mera yaqeen nahi karoge?' Unhone kaha, 'Haan, hum aapka yaqeen karenge.' Unhone farmaya, 'To main tumhein ek sakht azaab se pehle khabardaar karta hoon.' Isper Abu Lahab ne kaha, 'Tum barbaad ho! Kya isi liye tumne humein bulaaya hai?' To Allah ne naazil farmaya: 'Barbaad hon Abu Lahab ke haath...'
