Narrated Sa`id bin Jubair:I asked Ibn `Abbas about Surat Al-Tauba, and he said, "Surat Al-Tauba? It is exposure (of all the evils of the infidels and the hypocrites). And it continued revealing (that the oft-repeated expression): '...and of them ...and of them.' till they started thinking that none would be left unmentioned therein." I said, "What about) Surat Al-Anfal?" He replied, "Surat Al-Anfal was revealed in connection with the Badr Battle." I said, "(What about) Surat Al-Hashr?" He replied, "It was revealed in connection with Bani an-Nadir
Saeed bin Jubair bataate hain: Maine Ibn Abbas se Surah At-Tauba ke baare mein pucha, unhone kaha, 'Surah At-Tauba? Ye (munaafiqon aur kaafiron ke tamaam gunaahon ka) parda-faash karti hai. Aur ye baar baar aati rahi (jismein baar baar dohraaya jaata hai): "...aur unmein se... aur unmein se..." yahaan tak ke unhein laga ke shaayad koi bhi is se bacha na rahega jiska zikr na ho.' Maine pucha, '(Aur) Surah Al-Anfal (ke baare mein kya)?' Unhone jawab diya, 'Surah Al-Anfal jang-e-Badr ke silsile mein naazil hui thi.' Maine pucha, '(Aur) Surah Al-Hashr?' Unhone jawab diya, 'Ye Banu An-Nadir ke silsile mein naazil hui thi.'
