حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ قَالَتْ بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا ‏{‏أَنْ لاَ يُشْرِكْنَ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا‏}‏ وَنَهَانَا عَنِ النِّيَاحَةِ، فَقَبَضَتِ امْرَأَةٌ يَدَهَا فَقَالَتْ أَسْعَدَتْنِي فُلاَنَةُ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَجْزِيَهَا‏.‏ فَمَا قَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم شَيْئًا فَانْطَلَقَتْ وَرَجَعَتْ فَبَايَعَهَا‏.‏

Narrated Um Atiya:We took the oath of allegiance to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and he recited to us: 'They will not associate anything in worship with Allah,' and forbade us to bewail the dead. Thereupon a lady withdrew her hand (refrained from taking the oath of allegiance), and said, "But such-and-such lady lamented over one of my relatives, so I must reward (do the same over the dead relatives of) hers." The Prophet (ﷺ) did not object to that, so she went (there) and returned to the Prophet (ﷺ) so he accepted her pledge of allegiance

Umm Atiya bataati hain: Humne Allah ke Rasool (SAW) se baiat ki, unhone humein padh kar sunaya: 'Wo Allah ke saath kisi ko shareek nahi thehraayengi,' aur humein murde par bain (matam) karne se mana kiya. Isper ek aurat ne apna haath khainch liya (baiat karne se ruk gayi) aur kaha, 'Magar falaan aurat ne mere ek rishtedaar ki maut par bain kiya tha, to mujhe bhi uska badla dena hoga (uske murde rishtedaar par bain karke).' Nabi (SAW) ne isper aitraaz nahi kiya, to wo gayi (aur bain karke) wapas Nabi (SAW) ke paas aayi, phir unhone uski baiat qubool kar li.
