Sahih al-Bukhari 4947

Hadith text

Narrated `Ali:We were in the company of the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said, "There is none among you but has his place written for him, either in Paradise or in the Hell-Fire." We said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Shall we depend (on this fact and give up work)?" He replied, "No! Carry on doing good deeds, for everybody will find easy (to do) such deeds as will lead him to his destined place." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) recited: 'As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah, and believes in the Best reward. We will make smooth for him the path of ease....the path for evil

Ali bataate hain: Hum Nabi (SAW) ke saath the aur unhone farmaya, 'Tum mein se koi nahi jiske liye Jannat ya Jahannam mein uski jagah pehle se likhi na ho.' Humne kaha, 'Aye Allah ke Rasool! To kya hum isi par bharosa kar lein (aur amal karna chhod dein)?' Unhone jawab diya, 'Nahi! Amal karte raho, kyunke har kisi ke liye aise amal aasan kar diye jaayenge jo use uski muqaddar wali jagah tak le jaayein.' Phir Nabi (SAW) ne padha: 'Jo shaks (khairaat mein) deta hai aur Allah se darta hai, aur behtareen badle par Iman rakhta hai. Hum uske liye aasaani ka raasta aasan kar denge...buraai ka raasta.'
