Narrated Aisha:(the wife of the Prophet) The commencement (of the Divine Inspiration) to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was in the form of true dreams in his sleep, for he never had a dream but it turned out to be true and clear as the bright daylight. Then he began to like seclusions, so he used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira where he used to worship Allah continuously for many nights before going back to his family to take the necessary provision (of food) for the stay. He come back to (his wife) Khadija again to take his provision (of food) likewise, till one day he received the Guidance while he was in the cave of Hira. An Angel came to him and asked him to read. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) replied, "I do not know how to read." The Prophet (ﷺ) added, "Then the Angel held me (forcibly) and pressed me so hard that I felt distressed. Then he released me and again asked me to read, and I replied, 'I do not know how to read.' Thereupon he held me again and pressed me for the second time till I felt distressed. He then released me and asked me to read, but again I replied. 'I do not know how to read.' Thereupon he held me for the third time and pressed me till I got distressed, and then he released me and said, 'Read, in the Name of your Lord Who has created (all that exists), has created man out of a clot, Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous. Who has taught (the writing) by the pen, has taught man that which he knew not." (96.1-5). Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) returned with that experience; and the muscles between his neck and shoulders were trembling till he came upon Khadija (his wife) and said, "Cover me!" They covered him, and when the state of fear was over, he said to Khadija, "O Khadija! What is wrong with me? I was afraid that something bad might happen to me." Then he told her the story. Khadija said, "Nay! But receive the good tidings! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you, for by Allah, you keep good relations with your Kith and kin, speak the truth, help the poor and the destitute, entertain your guests generously and assist those who are stricken with calamities." Khadija then took him to Waraqa bin Naufil, the son of Khadija's paternal uncle. Waraqa had been converted to Christianity in the Pre-Islamic Period and used to write Arabic and write of the Gospel in Arabic as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said (to Waraqa), "O my cousin! Listen to what your nephew is going to say." Waraqa said, "O my nephew! What have you seen?" The Prophet (ﷺ) then described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, "This is the same Angel (Gabriel) who was sent to Moses. I wish I were young." He added some other statement. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) asked, "Will these people drive me out?" Waraqa said, "Yes, for nobody brought the like of what you have brought, but was treated with hostility. If I were to remain alive till your day (when you start preaching). then I would support you strongly." But a short while later Waraqa died and the Divine Inspiration was paused (stopped) for a while so that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was very much grieved

Aisha (Nabi ki zawja) bataati hain: Allah ke Rasool (SAW) par wahi ki shuruaat sacche khwaabon ke zariye hui, jo unhein neend mein aate the, aur unka koi bhi khwaab kabhi galat saabit nahi hua, wo hamesha subah ki roshni jaisa saaf aur sach saabit hota. Phir unhein tanhaai pasand aane lagi, isliye wo Hira ki ghaar mein jaakar kai raaton tak musalsal Allah ki ibaadat karte, phir apne ghar wapas aakar apne rehne ke liye zaroori saamaan (khaana) lekar dobara jaate. Wo Khadija (apni biwi) ke paas wapas aate is tarah bhi saamaan lene ke liye, yahaan tak ke ek din unhein Hira ki ghaar mein hi hidaayat mili. Ek Farishta unke paas aaya aur unse padhne ko kaha. Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne jawab diya, 'Mujhe padhna nahi aata.' Nabi (SAW) ne aage bataya, 'Phir Farishte ne mujhe (zabardasti) pakda aur itni zor se dabaaya ke mujhe takleef hone lagi. Phir usne mujhe chhoda aur dobara padhne ko kaha, maine kaha, "Mujhe padhna nahi aata." Isper usne mujhe dobara pakda aur doosri baar dabaaya yahaan tak ke mujhe takleef hone lagi. Phir usne mujhe chhoda aur padhne ko kaha, magar maine phir kaha, "Mujhe padhna nahi aata." Isper usne mujhe teesri baar pakda aur dabaaya yahaan tak ke mujhe takleef hui, phir usne mujhe chhoda aur kaha, "Padho apne Rab ke naam se jisne (sab kuch) paida kiya, jisne insaan ko jamme hue khoon se banaaya, padho! Aur tumhaara Rab sabse zyaada karam karne wala hai, jisne kalam ke zariye sikhaaya, insaan ko wo sikhaaya jo wo nahi jaanta tha."' (96:1-5) Phir Allah ke Rasool (SAW) is tajurbe ke saath wapas laute; unki gardan aur kandhon ke beech ke pathhe kaanp rahe the yahaan tak ke wo Khadija (apni biwi) ke paas pahunche aur kaha, 'Mujhe chaadar odhaao!' Unhone unhein chaadar odhaayi, aur jab unka khauf khatam hua, to unhone Khadija se kaha, 'Aye Khadija! Mujhe kya ho gaya hai? Mujhe dar tha ke kahin mera koi bura anjaam na ho jaaye.' Phir unhone poora waqiya bataaya. Khadija ne kaha, 'Nahi! Balke khush-khabri lijiye! Allah ki qasam, Allah aapko kabhi be-izzat nahi karega, kyunke Allah ki qasam, aap apne rishtedaaron se achha sulook karte hain, sach bolte hain, gareebon aur be-sahaaron ki madad karte hain, mehmaanon ki khaatirdaari khule dil se karte hain, aur musibat mein padne walon ki madad karte hain.' Phir Khadija unhein Waraqa bin Naufil ke paas le gayi, jo Khadija ke chacha ke bete the. Waraqa jaahiliyat ke daur mein Isaai ho gaye the aur Arabi mein likhte the, aur Injeel ka jitna hissa Allah chaahta utna Arabi mein likh dete the. Wo ek budhe aadmi the aur unki nazar chali gayi thi. Khadija ne (Waraqa se) kaha, 'Aye mere chachazaad bhai! Suniye apne bhatije (Nabi) ki baat.' Waraqa ne pucha, 'Aye mere bhatije! Tumne kya dekha?' Nabi (SAW) ne unhein jo kuch dekha wo bataaya. Waraqa ne kaha, 'Ye wahi Farishta (Jibrael) hai jo Musa ke paas bheja gaya tha. Kaash main jawaan hota!' Unhone kuch aur bhi kaha. Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne pucha, 'Kya ye log mujhe (mere shehar se) nikaal denge?' Waraqa ne kaha, 'Haan, kyunke jo bhi tumhaare jaisi cheez lekar aaya, uske saath dushmani ki gayi. Agar main tumhaare us daur (jab tum dawat dena shuru karoge) tak zinda raha, to main zaroor tumhaari poori taaqat se madad karunga.' Magar thodi hi der baad Waraqa ka intekaal ho gaya, aur wahi ka silsila kuch waqt ke liye ruk gaya, jisse Allah ke Rasool (SAW) bahut gam-zada ho gaye.
