Hadith text
Narrated `Abdullah (bin Mas`ud):Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said (to me), "Recite the Qur'an to me." I said, "Shall I recite (it) to you while it has been revealed to you?" He said, "I like to hear it from another person." So I recited Surat An-Nisa (The Women) till I reached the Verse: 'How (will it be) then when We bring from each nation a witness, and We bring you (O Muhammad) as a witness against these people.' (4.41) Then he said to me, "Stop!" Thereupon I saw his eyes overflowing with tears
Abdullah (bin Masud) bataate hain: Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne (mujhse) kaha, 'Mujhe Quran padh kar sunaao.' Maine kaha, 'Kya main aapko sunaaun jabke ye aap hi par naazil hua hai?' Unhone farmaya, 'Mujhe pasand hai ke main ise kisi aur se sunun.' To maine Surah An-Nisa padhni shuru ki yahaan tak ke main is Aayat par pahuncha: 'To (us waqt) kya hoga jab Hum har ummat se ek gawaah laayenge, aur (Aye Muhammad) tumhein in sab par gawaah banaakar laayenge?' (4:41) Phir unhone mujhse kaha, 'Ruk jao!' Isper maine dekha ke unki aankhon se aansu beh rahe the.
