Hadith text

Narrated Anas bin Malik:A group of three men came to the houses of the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) asking how the Prophet (ﷺ) worshipped (Allah), and when they were informed about that, they considered their worship insufficient and said, "Where are we from the Prophet (ﷺ) as his past and future sins have been forgiven." Then one of them said, "I will offer the prayer throughout the night forever." The other said, "I will fast throughout the year and will not break my fast." The third said, "I will keep away from the women and will not marry forever." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to them and said, "Are you the same people who said so-and-so? By Allah, I am more submissive to Allah and more afraid of Him than you; yet I fast and break my fast, I do sleep and I also marry women. So he who does not follow my tradition in religion, is not from me (not one of my followers)

Anas bin Malik bataate hain: Teen aadmiyon ka ek giroh Nabi (SAW) ki azwaaj ke gharon mein aaya aur poocha ke Nabi (SAW) (Allah ki) ibaadat kaise karte hain. Jab unhein bataaya gaya, to unhone apni ibaadat ko kam samjha aur kaha, 'Hum Nabi (SAW) ke muqaable mein kahaan hain, jinke agle-pichhle sab gunaah maaf ho chuke hain?' Phir unmein se ek ne kaha, 'Main hamesha poori raat namaz padhunga.' Doosre ne kaha, 'Main saal bhar roza rakhunga aur kabhi roza nahi todunga.' Teesre ne kaha, 'Main auraton se door rahunga aur kabhi nikaah nahi karunga.' Allah ke Rasool (SAW) unke paas aaye aur farmaya, 'Kya tum wahi log ho jinhone aisi aisi baat kahi? Allah ki qasam, main tum sabse zyaada Allah se darta hoon aur uske aage jhukta hoon; phir bhi main roza rakhta hoon aur roza todta bhi hoon, main sota bhi hoon aur auraton se nikaah bhi karta hoon. To jo koi mere deen ke tareeke ki pairvi nahi karta, wo mujhse (yaani mere maanne walon mein) nahi hai.'
