Hadith text
Narrated 'Alqama:While I was with `Abdullah, `Uthman met him at Mina and said, "O Abu `Abdur-Rahman ! I have something to say to you." So both of them went aside and `Uthman said, "O Abu `Abdur-Rah. man! Shall we marry you to a virgin who will make you remember your past days?" When `Abdullah felt that he was not in need of that, he beckoned me (to join him) saying, "O 'Alqama!" Then I heard him saying (in reply to `Uthman), "As you have said that, (I tell you that) the Prophet (ﷺ) once said to us, 'O young people! Whoever among you is able to marry, should marry, and whoever is not able to marry, is recommended to fast, as fasting diminishes his sexual power
Alqama bataate hain: Jab main Abdullah ke saath tha, Uthman unse Mina mein mile aur kaha, 'Aye Abu Abdur Rahman! Mujhe aapse kuch kehna hai.' To dono alag ho gaye aur Uthman ne kaha, 'Aye Abu Abdur Rahman! Kya hum aapka nikaah ek kunwaari ladki se karwa dein jo aapko aapke pichhle din yaad dilaayegi?' Jab Abdullah ko laga ke unhein iski zaroorat nahi, to unhone mujhe ishara karke bulaaya: 'Aye Alqama!' Phir maine unhein (Uthman ke jawab mein) ye kehte suna: Jaisa aapne kaha hai, main aapko bataata hoon - Nabi (SAW) ne ek baar humse kaha tha, 'Aye jawaan logo! Tum mein se jo nikaah karne ki taaqat rakhta hai, use nikaah karna chahiye, aur jo taaqat nahi rakhta, use roza rakhna chahiye, kyunke roza uski jinsi khwaahish ko kam karta hai.'
