Aisha bataati hain: Barira ke maamle mein teen usool qaayam hue: Jab unhein azaad kiya gaya, to unhein apne shohar ko rakhne ya chhodne ka ikhtiyaar diya gaya; Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Wala uske liye hai jo azaad kare.' Ek baar Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ghar mein daakhil hue jabke ek deg mein gosht pak raha tha, magar unke saamne sirf roti aur ghar ka shorba rakha gaya. Unhone pucha, 'Kya main deg mein gosht nahi dekh raha?' Unhone kaha, 'Haan, magar wo gosht Barira ko sadqe mein (kisi ne) diya hai, aur aap sadqe ki cheez nahi khaate.' Nabi (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Wo gosht unke liye sadqa hai, magar hamare liye tohfa hai.'
