Hadith text
Narrated Abu Huraira:A dead man in debt used to be brought to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) who would ask, "Has he left anything to re pay his debts?" If he was informed that he had left something to cover his debts the Prophet (ﷺ) would offer the funeral prayer for him; otherwise he would say to the Muslims present there), "Offer the funeral prayer for your friend:"but when Allah helped the Prophet (ﷺ) to gain victory (on his expeditions), he said, "I am closer to the Believers than themselves, so. if one of the Believers dies in debt, I will repay it, but if he leaves wealth, it will be for his heirs
Abu Huraira bataate hain: Ek qarzdaar mayyat ko Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ke paas laaya jaata, aur wo poochte, 'Kya usne apna qarz chukaane ke liye kuch chhoda hai?' Agar unhein bataya jaata ke usne itna chhoda hai ke uska qarz pura ho sake, to Nabi (SAW) uski namaz-e-janaza padhaate; warna wo (wahaan maujood Musalmaanon se) kehte, 'Apne saathi ki namaz-e-janaza tum padho.' Magar jab Allah ne Nabi (SAW) ko fatah di (unki mohimon mein), to unhone farmaya, 'Main Momineen ke liye unki apni jaan se bhi zyaada qareeb hoon, isliye agar koi momin qarz mein mar jaaye, to main uska qarz chukaunga, magar agar wo maal chhode, to wo uske waarison ke liye hoga.'
