Hadith text

Narrated `Abis:I asked `Aisha "Did the Prophet (ﷺ) forbid eating the meat of sacrifices offered on `Id-ul-Adha for more than three days" She said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) did not do this except in the year when the people were hungry, so he wanted the rich to feed the poor. But later we used to store even a trotter of a sheep to eat it fifteen days later." She was asked, "What compelled you to do so?" She smiled and said, "The family of Muhammad did not eat to their satisfaction white bread with meat soup for three successive days till he met Allah

Abis bataate hain: Maine Aisha se pucha, 'Kya Nabi (SAW) ne Eid-ul-Adha ki qurbaani ka gosht teen din se zyaada khaane se mana kiya tha?' Unhone kaha, 'Nabi (SAW) ne aisa sirf us saal kiya tha jab log bhookhe the, taake ameer gareebon ko khilaayein. Magar baad mein hum ek bakri ka pair bhi pandrah din baad khaane ke liye jama karte the.' Unse pucha gaya, 'Aisa karne ki kya majboori thi?' Unhone muskuraakar kaha, 'Muhammad (SAW) ka khaandaan kabhi teen din lagataar pet bhar kar safed roti aur gosht ka shorba nahi kha paaya, unki wafat tak.'
