Hadith text

Narrated `Adi bin Hatim:I asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about the Mi'rad. He said, "If you hit the game with its sharp edge, eat it, but if the Mi'rad hits the game with its shaft with a hit by its broad side do not eat it, for it has been beaten to death with a piece of wood. (i.e. unlawful)." I asked, "If I let loose my trained hound after a game?" He said, "If you let loose your trained hound after game, and mention the name of Allah, then you can eat." I said, "If the hound eats of the game?" He said "Then you should not eat of it, for the hound has hunted the game for itself and not for you." I said, "Some times I send my hound and then I find some other hound with it?" He said "Don't eat the game, as you have mentioned the Name of Allah on your dog only and not on the other

Adi bin Hatim bataate hain: Maine Allah ke Rasool (SAW) se Mi'rad ke baare mein pucha. Unhone farmaya, 'Agar tum shikaar ko iski teekhi dhaar se maaro, to use khaao, magar agar Mi'rad shikaar ko iski chaudi taraf ki chot se maare, to use mat khaao, kyunke wo lakdi se maar-maar kar mara gaya hai (haraam hai).' Maine pucha, 'Agar main apna trained kutta shikaar ke peechhe chhod doon?' Unhone kaha, 'Agar tum apna trained kutta shikaar ke peechhe chhodo aur Allah ka naam lo, to tum khaa sakte ho.' Maine pucha, 'Agar kutta khud shikaar mein se khaa le?' Unhone kaha, 'To tumhein use nahi khaana chaahiye, kyunke kutte ne shikaar apne liye pakda hai, tumhaare liye nahi.' Maine pucha, 'Kabhi kabhi main apna kutta bhejta hoon aur uske saath koi aur kutta paata hoon?' Unhone kaha, 'Shikaar mat khaao, kyunke tumne Allah ka naam sirf apne kutte par liya, doosre par nahi.'
