Hadith text

Narrated Adi bin Hatim:I asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ). "We hunt with the help of these hounds." He said, "If you let loose your trained hounds after a game, and mention the name of Allah, then you can eat what the hounds catch for you, even if they killed the game. But you should not eat of it if the hound has eaten of it, for then it is likely that the hound has caught the game for itself. And if other hounds join your hound in hunting the game, then do not eat of it

Adi bin Hatim bataate hain: Maine Allah ke Rasool (SAW) se pucha, 'Hum in kutton ki madad se shikaar karte hain.' Unhone kaha, 'Agar tum apne trained kutton ko shikaar ke peechhe chhodo aur Allah ka naam lo, to tum wo khaa sakte ho jo kutte tumhaare liye pakden, chaahe wo shikaar ko maar dein. Magar tumhein use nahi khaana chaahiye agar kutte ne usmein se khaaya ho, kyunke tab ye sambhaawana hai ke kutte ne shikaar apne liye pakda ho. Aur agar tumhaare kutte ke saath doosre kutte bhi shikaar mein shaamil ho jaayein, to use mat khaao.'
