Sahih al-Bukhari 5561

Hadith text

Narrated Anas:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever slaughtered the sacrifice before the `Id prayer, should repeat it (slaughter another one)." A man said "This is the day on which meat is desired." Then he mentioned the need of his neighbors (for meat) and the Prophet (ﷺ) seemed to accept his excuse. The man said, "I have a Jadha'a which is to me better than two sheep." The Prophet (ﷺ) allowed him (to slaughter it as a sacrifice). But I do not know whether this permission was general for all Muslims or not. The Prophet (ﷺ) then went towards two rams and slaughtered them, and the people went towards their sheep and slaughtered them

Anas bataate hain: Nabi (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Jisne Eid ki namaz se pehle qurbaani zibah ki ho, use dobara (ek aur) zibah karni chaahiye.' Ek shaks ne kaha, 'Ye aisa din hai jab gosht ki khwaahish hoti hai.' Phir unhone apne padosiyon ki zaroorat (gosht ki) ka zikr kiya aur Nabi (SAW) ne unki mazrat qubool kar li lagi. Us shaks ne kaha, 'Mere paas ek Jadha'a hai jo mere liye do bakriyon se behtar hai.' Nabi (SAW) ne unhein (use qurbaani ke taur par zibah karne ki) ijaazat di. Magar mujhe nahi pata ke ye ijaazat sab Musalmaanon ke liye aam thi ya nahi. Phir Nabi (SAW) do mendhon ki taraf gaye aur unhein zibah kiya, aur log apni bakriyon ki taraf gaye aur unhein zibah kiya.
