Sahih al-Bukhari 5569

Hadith text

Narrated Salama bin Al-Aqua':The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever has slaughtered a sacrifice should not keep anything of Its meat after three days." When it was the next year the people said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Shall we do as we did last year?" He said, ' Eat of it and feed of it to others and store of it for in that year the people were having a hard time and I wanted you to help (the needy)

Salama bin Al-Aqwa bataate hain: Nabi (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Jisne bhi qurbaani zibah ki ho, use teen din baad uska gosht apne paas nahi rakhna chaahiye.' Jab agla saal aaya, logon ne kaha, 'Aye Allah ke Rasool! Kya hum wahi karein jo humne pichhle saal kiya tha?' Unhone kaha, 'Ise khaao, doosron ko khilaao, aur (kuch) jama karo, kyunke us saal log mushkil daur se guzar rahe the aur main chahta tha ke tum (zaroorat-mandon ki) madad karo.'
