Hadith text

Narrated An-Nazzal bin Sabra:`Ali offered the Zuhr prayer and then sat down in the wide courtyard (of the Mosque) of Kufa in order to deal with the affairs of the people till the `Asr prayer became due. Then water was brought to him and he drank of it, washed his face, hands, head and feet. Then he stood up and drank the remaining water while he was standing. and said, "Some people dislike to drink water while standing thought the Prophet did as I have just done

An-Nazzal bin Sabra bataate hain: Ali ne Zuhr ki namaz padhi, phir Kufa ki Masjid ke wasee aangan mein baith gaye taake wo logon ke maamlaat sulajha sakein, yahaan tak ke Asr ki namaz ka waqt aa gaya. Phir unke paas paani laaya gaya aur unhone piya, apna chehra, haath, sar aur pair dhoye. Phir wo khade hue aur baacha hua paani khade hokar piya, aur kaha, 'Kuch log khade hokar paani peena napasand karte hain, jabke Nabi (SAW) ne waisa hi kiya tha jaisa maine abhi kiya.'
