Sahih al-Bukhari 5705

Hadith text

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, 'Nations were displayed before me; one or two prophets would pass by along with a few followers. A prophet would pass by accompanied by nobody. Then a big crowd of people passed in front of me and I asked, Who are they Are they my followers?" It was said, 'No. It is Moses and his followers It was said to me, 'Look at the horizon.'' Behold! There was a multitude of people filling the horizon. Then it was said to me, 'Look there and there about the stretching sky! Behold! There was a multitude filling the horizon,' It was said to me, 'This is your nation out of whom seventy thousand shall enter Paradise without reckoning.' "Then the Prophet (ﷺ) entered his house without telling his companions who they (the 70,000) were. So the people started talking about the issue and said, "It is we who have believed in Allah and followed His Apostle; therefore those people are either ourselves or our children who are born m the Islamic era, for we were born in the Pre-Islamic Period of Ignorance.'' When the Prophet (ﷺ) heard of that, he came out and said. "Those people are those who do not treat themselves with Ruqya, nor do they believe in bad or good omen (from birds etc.) nor do they get themselves branded (Cauterized). but they put their trust (only) in their Lord " On that 'Ukasha bin Muhsin said. "Am I one of them, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)?' The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Yes." Then another person got up and said, "Am I one of them?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Ukasha has anticipated you

Ibn Abbas bataate hain: Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne farmaya, 'Mere saamne ummaten pesh ki gayin; ek ya do Nabi apne kuch maanne walon ke saath guzarte, ek Nabi bina kisi ke saath guzarte. Phir ek bada hujoom mere saamne se guzra aur maine pucha, "Ye kaun hain? Kya ye mere maanne wale hain?" Kaha gaya, "Nahi. Ye Musa aur unke maanne wale hain." Phir mujhse kaha gaya, "Ufuq (kshitij) ki taraf dekho." Dekha to ek bhaari bheed thi jo poore ufuq ko bhar rahi thi. Phir mujhse kaha gaya, "Wahaan dekho aur wahaan, phaile hue aasman ki taraf!" Dekha to ek bhaari bheed thi jo poore ufuq ko bhar rahi thi. Mujhse kaha gaya, "Ye tumhaari ummat hai, jinmein se sattar hazaar bina hisaab-kitaab ke Jannat mein daakhil honge."' Phir Nabi (SAW) apne ghar chale gaye bina apne sahaaba ko bataaye ke wo (sattar hazaar) kaun hain. To log is baare mein baatein karne lage aur kaha, 'Hum hi wo hain jo Allah par Iman laaye aur uske Rasool ki pairvi ki; isliye wo log ya to hum khud hain ya humaare bachche jo Islami daur mein paida hue, kyunke hum Jaahiliyat ke daur mein paida hue the.' Jab Nabi (SAW) ne ye suna, wo baahar aaye aur kaha, 'Wo log wahi hain jo apna ilaaj Ruqya se nahi karwaate, na (parindon waghera se) shagun mein Yaqeen rakhte hain, na khud ko daagh lagwaate hain, balke wo sirf apne Rab par bharosa karte hain.' Isper Ukasha bin Muhsin ne kaha, 'Kya main unmein se hoon, Aye Allah ke Rasool?' Nabi (SAW) ne kaha, 'Haan.' Phir ek aur shaks khada hua aur kaha, 'Kya main unmein se hoon?' Nabi (SAW) ne kaha, 'Ukasha tumse pehle hi ye keh chuke.'
