Hadith text

Narrated `Ikrima:Rifa`a divorced his wife whereupon `AbdurRahman bin Az-Zubair Al-Qurazi married her. `Aisha said that the lady (came), wearing a green veil (and complained to her (Aisha) of her husband and showed her a green spot on her skin caused by beating). It was the habit of ladies to support each other, so when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came, `Aisha said, "I have not seen any woman suffering as much as the believing women. Look! Her skin is greener than her clothes!" When `AbdurRahman heard that his wife had gone to the Prophet, he came with his two sons from another wife. She said, "By Allah! I have done no wrong to him but he is impotent and is as useless to me as this," holding and showing the fringe of her garment, `Abdur-Rahman said, "By Allah, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! She has told a lie! I am very strong and can satisfy her but she is disobedient and wants to go back to Rifa`a." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, to her, "If that is your intention, then know that it is unlawful for you to remarry Rifa`a unless `Abdur-Rahman has had sexual intercourse with you." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) saw two boys with `Abdur- Rahman and asked (him), "Are these your sons?" On that `AbdurRahman said, "Yes." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You claim what you claim (i.e.. that he is impotent)? But by Allah, these boys resemble him as a crow resembles a crow

Ikrima bataate hain: Rifa'a ne apni biwi ko talaaq de di, isper Abdur Rahman bin Az-Zubair Al-Qurazi ne unse nikaah kiya. Aisha ne bataaya ke wo khaatoon (aayi), hara dupatta pehne hue (aur Aisha se apne shohar ki shikaayat ki aur unhein maar ki wajah se apni khaal par ek hara nishaan dikhaya). Auraton ki aadat thi ki wo ek doosre ki madad karti thin, to jab Allah ke Rasool (SAW) aaye, Aisha ne kaha, 'Maine kabhi kisi aurat ko Momin auraton jitna dukhi nahi dekha. Dekhiye! Uski khaal uske kapdon se bhi zyaada hari hai!' Jab Abdur Rahman ne suna ke uski biwi Nabi (SAW) ke paas gayi hai, wo apni doosri biwi se hue apne do beton ke saath aaye. Usne kaha, 'Allah ki qasam! Maine unke saath koi galat nahi kiya, magar wo napunsak hain aur mere kaam ke nahi, is (dupatte ke kinaare) jaise,' apne kapde ka kinaara pakadkar dikhaate hue. Abdur Rahman ne kaha, 'Allah ki qasam, Aye Allah ke Rasool! Usne jhoot bola hai! Main bahut taaqatwar hoon aur use santusht kar sakta hoon, magar wo naafarmaan hai aur Rifa'a ke paas wapas jaana chahti hai.' Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne usse kaha, 'Agar yahi tumhaara irada hai, to jaan lo ke tumhaare liye Rifa'a se dobara nikaah karna jaayez nahi jab tak Abdur Rahman tumhaare saath humbistari na kare.' Phir Nabi (SAW) ne Abdur Rahman ke saath do ladke dekhe aur pucha (unse), 'Kya ye tumhaare bete hain?' Isper Abdur Rahman ne kaha, 'Haan.' Nabi (SAW) ne kaha, 'Tum jo dawa karte ho wo karte ho (yaani ke tum napunsak ho)? Magar Allah ki qasam, ye ladke unse aise milte-julte hain jaise ek kauwa doosre kauwe se milta hai.'
