حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي، أَخْبَرَتْنِي أَسْمَاءُ ابْنَةُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَتْ أَتَتْنِي أُمِّي رَاغِبَةً فِي عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم آصِلُهَا قَالَ ‏"‏ نَعَمْ ‏"‏‏.‏ قَالَ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى فِيهَا ‏{‏لاَ يَنْهَاكُمُ اللَّهُ عَنِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ‏}‏

Narrated Asma' bint Abu Bakr:My mother came to me, hoping (for my favor) during the lifetime of the Prophet. I asked the Prophet, "May I treat her kindly?" He replied, "Yes." Ibn 'Uyaina said, "Then Allah revealed: 'Allah forbids you not with regards to those who fought not against you because of religion, and drove you not out from your homes, that you should show them kindness and deal justly with them

Asma bint Abu Bakr bataati hain: Meri (mushrik) maa Nabi (SAW) ki zindagi mein mere paas aayi, mujhse (kuch) ummeed rakhte hue. Maine Nabi (SAW) se pucha, 'Kya main unke saath achha sulook karoon?' Unhone jawab diya, 'Haan.' Ravi Ibn Uyaina kehte hain: Phir Allah ne naazil farmaya: 'Allah tumhein un logon ke saath achha sulook karne aur insaaf karne se nahi rokta jinhone deen ki wajah se tumse jang nahi ki, aur tumhein tumhaare gharon se nahi nikaala.'
