Hadith text

Narrated Sa`id:Um Khalid bint Khalid bin Sa`id said, "I came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) along with my father and I was wearing a yellow shirt. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Sanah Sanah!" (`Abdullah, the sub-narrator said, "It means, 'Nice, nice!' in the Ethiopian language.") Um Khalid added, "Then I started playing with the seal of Prophethood. My father admonished me. But Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said (to my father), "Leave her," Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (then addressing me) said, "May you live so long that your dress gets worn out, and you will mend it many times, and then wear another till it gets worn out (i.e. May Allah prolong your life)." (The sub-narrator, `Abdullah aid, "That garment (which she was wearing remained usable for a long period)

Saeed bataate hain: Umm Khalid bint Khalid bin Saeed ne kaha, 'Main apne waalid ke saath Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ke paas aayi aur maine peela kameez pehna hua tha. Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne kaha, "Sanah Sanah!" (Ravi Abdullah kehte hain, "Iska matlab Habshi zabaan mein 'achha, achha!' hota hai.")' Umm Khalid ne aage kaha, 'Phir main Nabuwwat ki muhar (khatam an-nubuwwat) se khelne lagi. Mere waalid ne mujhe daanta. Magar Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne (mere waalid se) kaha, "Ise chhod do."' Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne (phir mujhse muKHatib hoke) kaha, 'Itni umar jiyo ke tumhaara kapda purana ho jaaye, aur tum ise kayi baar theek karwaao, phir doosra pehno yahaan tak ke wo bhi purana ho jaaye (yaani Allah tumhaari umar lambi kare).' (Ravi Abdullah kehte hain, 'Wo kapda (jo wo pehne hue thi) lambe arse tak istemaal hota raha.')
