Hadith text
Narrated `Abdullah:I said 'O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Which sin is the greatest?" He said, "To set up a rival unto Allah, though He Alone created you." I said, "What next?" He said, "To kill your son lest he should share your food with you." I further asked, "What next?" He said, "To commit illegal sexual intercourse with the wife of your neighbor." And then Allah revealed as proof of the statement of the Prophet: 'Those who invoke not with Allah any other god)................. (to end of verse)
Abdullah bataate hain: Maine kaha, 'Aye Allah ke Rasool! Kaunsa gunaah sabse bada hai?' Unhone kaha, 'Allah ka koi shareek thehraana, halaanke usi ne akele tumhein banaaya.' Maine kaha, 'Uske baad?' Unhone kaha, 'Apne bete ko is dar se qatl karna ke wo tumhaare saath tumhaara khaana baantega.' Maine aage pucha, 'Uske baad?' Unhone kaha, 'Apne padosi ki biwi ke saath zina karna.' Phir Allah ne Nabi (SAW) ke is bayaan ke saboot ke taur par naazil kiya: 'Jo log Allah ke saath kisi aur khuda ko nahi pukaarte...' (Aayat ke aakhir tak).
