حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّهُ قَالَ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّكَ تَبْعَثُنَا فَنَنْزِلُ بِقَوْمٍ فَلاَ يَقْرُونَنَا فَمَا تَرَى، فَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ إِنْ نَزَلْتُمْ بِقَوْمٍ فَأَمَرُوا لَكُمْ بِمَا يَنْبَغِي لِلضَّيْفِ فَاقْبَلُوا، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا فَخُذُوا مِنْهُمْ حَقَّ الضَّيْفِ الَّذِي يَنْبَغِي لَهُمْ ‏"‏‏.‏

Narrated `Uqba bin 'Amir:We said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! You send us out and it happens that we have to stay with such people as do not entertain us. What do you think about it?" Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to us, "If you stay with some people and they entertain you as they should for a guest, accept is; but if they do not do then you should take from them the right of the guest, which they ought to give

Uqba bin Aamir bataate hain: Humne kaha, 'Aye Allah ke Rasool! Aap humein bhejte hain aur kabhi hum aise logon ke saath thehar jaate hain jo humaari mehmaan-nawaazi nahi karte. Aap iske baare mein kya farmaate hain?' Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne humse kaha, 'Agar tum kisi ke saath thehro aur wo tumhaari mehmaan ke haq ke mutaabik khidmat karein, to use qubool karo; magar agar wo aisa nahi karte, to unse mehmaan ka haq le lo jo unhein dena chaahiye.'
