Book 78: Good Manners and Form (Al-Adab) · Hadith 239

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ بِتُّ فِي بَيْتِ مَيْمُونَةَ وَالنَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عِنْدَهَا، فَلَمَّا كَانَ ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الآخِرُ أَوْ بَعْضُهُ قَعَدَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَقَرَأَ ‏{‏إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلاَفِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ لآيَاتٍ لأُولِي الأَلْبَابِ‏}‏‏.‏

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:Once I stayed overnight at the house of Maimuna and the Prophet (ﷺ) was there with her. When it was the last third of the night, or some part of the night, the Prophet (ﷺ) got up looking towards the sky and recited: 'Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of Night and Day, there are indeed signs for men of u understanding

Ibn Abbas bataate hain: Ek baar main Maimuna ke ghar raat guzaari aur Nabi (SAW) unke saath the. Jab raat ka aakhri tihaai hissa (ya raat ka kuch hissa) aaya, Nabi (SAW) uthe, aasman ki taraf dekha aur padha: 'Beshak, aasmaanon aur zameen ki takhleeq mein, aur raat aur din ke badalne mein, samajhdaar logon ke liye zaroor nishaaniyaan hain.'
