Hadith text
Narrated `Abdullah bin Ka`b:I heard Ka`b bin Malik narrating (when he did not join the battle of Tabuk): Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade all the Muslims to speak to us. I would come to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and greet him, and I would wonder whether the Prophet (ﷺ) did move his lips to return to my greetings or not till fifty nights passed away. The Prophet (ﷺ) then announced (to the people) Allah's forgiveness for us (acceptance of our repentance) at the time when he had offered the Fajr (morning) prayer
Abdullah bin Ka'b bataate hain: Maine Ka'b bin Malik ko ye bayaan karte suna (jab wo jang-e-Tabuk mein shaamil nahi hue the): Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ne sab Musalmaanon ko hamse baat karne se mana kiya. Main Allah ke Rasool (SAW) ke paas aata aur unhein salaam karta, aur main sochta rehta ke kya Nabi (SAW) ne apne honth hilaaye mera salaam laut-aane ke liye ya nahi, yahaan tak ke pachaas raatein guzar gayi. Phir Nabi (SAW) ne humaare liye Allah ki maafi ka elaan kiya (yaani humaari tauba qubool hone ka) us waqt jab unhone Fajr ki namaz padhaayi thi.
