Book 8: Prayers (Salat) · Hadith 75
Hadith text
Narrated `Itban bin Malik:who was one of the companions of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and one of the Ansars who took part in the battle of Badr: I came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) I have weak eyesight and I lead my people in prayers. When it rains the water flows in the valley between me and my people so I cannot go to their mosque to lead them in prayer. O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I wish you would come to my house and pray in it so that I could take that place as a Musalla. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said. "Allah willing, I will do so." Next day after the sun rose high, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and Abu Bakr came and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) asked for permission to enter. I gave him permission and he did not sit on entering the house but said to me, "Where do you like me to pray?" I pointed to a place in my house. So Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) stood there and said, 'Allahu Akbar', and we all got up and aligned behind him and offered a two-rak`at prayer and ended it with Taslim. We requested him to stay for a meal called "Khazira" which we had prepared for him. Many members of our family gathered in the house and one of them said, "Where is Malik bin Al-Dukhaishin or Ibn Al-Dukhshun?" One of them replied, "He is a hypocrite and does not love Allah and His Apostle." Hearing that, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Do not say so. Haven't you seen that he said, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah' for Allah's sake only?" He said, "Allah and His Apostle know better. We have seen him helping and advising hypocrites." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Allah has forbidden the (Hell) fire for those who say, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah' for Allah's sake only
Itban bin Malik (رضی اللہ عنہ), jo Allah ke Rasool ke sahaba mein se the aur Badr ki jung mein shareek Ansaar mein se the, bataate hain: "Main Allah ke Rasool ke paas gaya aur kaha: 'Ya Rasoolallah! Meri nazar kamzor hai aur main apni qaum ki imamat karta hoon. Jab baarish hoti hai, mere aur unke darmiyan wadi mein paani bhar jaata hai, isliye main unki masjid tak imamat karne nahi ja sakta. Ya Rasoolallah! Kaash aap mere ghar aakar namaz padhein taake main use Musalla bana sakoon.' Allah ke Rasool ne farmaya: 'Insha Allah, main aisa karunga.' Agle din, dhoop chadhne ke baad, Allah ke Rasool aur Abu Bakr aaye, Allah ke Rasool ne andar aane ki ijazat maangi. Maine di, aur woh andar aakar baithe nahi, balki mujhse pucha: 'Kahan padhoon namaz?' Maine apne ghar mein ek jagah ishara ki. Allah ke Rasool wahan khade hue aur 'Allahu Akbar' kaha, hum sab uthe aur unke peechhe qatar mein khade hue, do rakat padhi aur Taslim se khatam ki. Humne unse khazira (khana) khaane ki darkhwast ki jo humne unke liye taiyaar kiya tha. Humare bahut se ghar wale wahan jama ho gaye, kisi ne pucha: 'Malik bin Al-Dukhaishin ya Ibn Al-Dukhshun kahan hai?' Kisi ne jawab diya: 'Woh munafiq hai, Allah aur uske Rasool se mohabbat nahi karta.' Yeh sunkar Allah ke Rasool ne farmaya: 'Aisa mat kaho. Kya tumne nahi dekha ke usne Allah ke liye "La ilaha illallah" kaha?' Unhone kaha: 'Allah aur uske Rasool behtar jaante hain. Humne dekha hai woh munafiqon ki madad aur salaah karta hai.' Allah ke Rasool ne farmaya: 'Allah ne unpar dozakh haram kar di hai jinhone Allah ke liye "La ilaha illallah" kaha.'"
