Hadith text
Narrated Hakim bin Hizam:I asked the Prophet (for some money) and he gave me, and then again I asked him and he gave me, and then again I asked him and he gave me and he then said, "This wealth is (like) green and sweet (fruit), and whoever takes it without greed, Allah will bless it for him, but whoever takes it with greed, Allah will not bless it for him, and he will be like the one who eats but is never satisfied. And the upper (giving) hand is better than the lower (taking) hand
Hakim bin Hizam bataate hain: Maine Nabi (SAW) se (kuch paisa) maanga aur unhone mujhe diya, phir maine dobara maanga aur unhone mujhe diya, phir maine phir maanga aur unhone mujhe diya, aur phir unhone kaha, 'Ye daulat hari aur meethi (phal) hai, aur jo koi ise bina lalach ke le, Allah use uske liye barkat dega, magar jo ise lalach se le, Allah use uske liye barkat nahi dega, aur wo us jaisa hoga jo khaata hai magar kabhi santusht nahi hota. Aur oopar wala (dene wala) haath neeche wale (lene wale) haath se behtar hai.'
